This is my mom’s ‘94 Miata.
It has no power steering, and crank windows. This has been her daily driver for 16 years. It has 250+k miles, it’s starting to burn oil, and the clear coat is abandoning ship. But she has no plans to ever replace it. Other than a few batteries, this car has needed nothing. She just gets in, cranks up the music, and drives.
Growing up, I never understood her love of this car. I never liked riding in it and I never enjoyed driving it. The only thing I knew is that she was happy every moment she was in it.
So here’s to my mom: a woman pushing 66 years old, who proudly drives a manual, RWD vehicle.

Must resist the joke where “tip” and “mom” intersect.

Burning oil could be as easy as a valve cover gasket. Make sure it’s had at least one timing belt and I think the water pump should have been replaced by now.
You have a cool mom.

I think I know where those seats might’ve come from!
If so, dayum, then she has Mazdaspeed Miata seats, in which case the NB2 seats are a far superior design to the NA and NB1 seats!

That red paint fade and clear issue is because of Mazda’s single-stage process. It happens to a lot of NAs and NBs.
